Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Residely ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered home management app. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Residely you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in via Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and display name from the provider you choose. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive and store the private relay address Apple generates instead of your real one. Either way, we never receive or store your Google or Apple account password.

Property data. When you add your home address, we query a third-party property-data provider to retrieve publicly available property details such as year built, square footage, HVAC type, and structural features. This data is cached in our database.

Service records and files. Receipts, warranties, invoices, and other documents you upload are stored in our secure cloud storage. We use a third-party AI provider to extract structured information (vendor, date, cost, warranty expiry) from these files.

Home assets. Appliance and system records you enter manually (brand, model, install date, warranty) are stored in your household profile.

Household membership. When you invite others to your household, we store their email addresses and membership status.

Usage data. We log which features you use (e.g. cue completions, record uploads) to improve the service and enforce fair-use limits. We do not track advertising identifiers.

Push notification tokens. If you grant notification permission, your device push token is stored to deliver maintenance reminders. You can revoke this in your device settings at any time.

Crash and error data. We use a third-party error-monitoring service to capture crash reports and error stack traces to diagnose bugs. These reports may include device type, OS version, and app version.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data to provide the Residely service:

  • Generating your personalised AI maintenance schedule and cues using a third-party AI provider
  • Storing and organising your service records and home asset history
  • Sending you maintenance reminders and reengagement notifications via push
  • Populating your home profile with publicly available property data
  • Diagnosing bugs and improving app reliability via crash reports
  • Knowing which plan your household is on, so the right limits and features apply

We also derive aggregated, anonymised statistics from this data. For example, how long a type of appliance tends to last across many homes, or how often a system is serviced. These figures describe homes in general and never you or your home: they carry no name, address, account, or household, and cannot be traced back to you. We use them to decide what to build and to show benchmarks in the app, and we may publish them as aggregate figures.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to operate Residely. Each receives only the data necessary for its function:

  • Cloud hosting, database & file storage (US region): stores your account, household, and uploaded files
  • AI processing: generates maintenance cues and extracts data from uploaded documents
  • Property-data lookup: retrieves public property details from your address
  • Address autocomplete: suggests addresses while you search for your property
  • Push-notification delivery: sends maintenance reminders to your device
  • Error monitoring: captures crash reports to help us fix bugs
  • Payments: subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play. Google handles the payment itself, so we never see or store your card, and it tells us only which plan your household is on and when it renews
  • Subscription management: keeps that plan status in sync between Google Play and your account. It receives an account identifier and your household identifier, and your purchase history for this app. It receives no name, email, address, or home data

We do not sell your data or share it with any third parties for advertising. We can provide the names of our current providers on request.

4. Household Data Sharing

All members of a Residely household can view the shared property profile, service records, home assets, and maintenance cues for that household. When you invite someone, they gain access to this shared content. Removing a member from the household revokes their access.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app (Settings → Delete my account), which takes effect immediately and deletes your household data, service records, uploaded files, and account information. Some anonymised usage logs may be retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes. Aggregated statistics already derived under “How We Use Your Information” are not personal data and cannot be traced back to you, so they are not deleted with your account. They contain nothing that identifies you or your home.

6. Security

Your data is stored with access-control policies ensuring users can only access their own household data. Files are stored in private cloud storage, accessible only via signed, time-limited URLs. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

7. Children's Privacy

Residely is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please email us at info@residelyapp.com and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you via our contact form
  • Deletion: permanently delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Settings → Delete my account)
  • Correction: update your home's records, assets, and project details directly in the app; for anything you can't edit yourself (like your name or email, which come from your Google or Apple account), reach us via our contact form
  • Notification opt-out: disable push notifications in your device settings at any time

California residents and EU/UK users may have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR respectively. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Residely after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
